Read more Our story Over 140 years of innovation in every lens 1980: Serengeti the Spectral Control filter lens. 1982: Serengeti was officially born. 1985: Introduction of the Serengeti Drivers lens. Serengeti - Legend sunglasses collection How you view the world says everything. Which explains why Serengeti has been committed to developing the world’s most advanced sunglass lens technology for over 45 years. Then again, innovation has always been inherent in our DNA. We believe that technically-enhanced vision helps you focus on what truly matters. With that, achieving perfect clarity is not the end game— but rather, the start. Read more Technologies PHOTOCHROMIC TECHNOLOGY Whether crossing sun-scorched desert valleys or winding mountain roads, Serengeti lenses perfectly adapt to changing light conditions. As the pioneer of Photochromic technology, Serengeti leads the industry in creating lenses that adapt to any light condition in any setting. Darkening in bright sunlight and lightening in overcast conditions, Photochromic technology allows your eyes to adapt to any light, in any weather. The result is a view of the world so crystal clear, you’ll notice natural beauty you’ve never seen before. SPECTRAL CONTROL TECHNOLOGY Serengeti Spectral Control technology fine-tunes the light waves passing through the lens, for a highly reduced blue light transmission, naturally enhanced detail and colors that pop, crisp and clear. Our Spectral Control technology manages light wavelengths to give better saturation of what we need to see. Much like an audio equalizer filters sound frequency, our lens fine tunes and filters shortwave blue light, allowing more red, green, and yellow to pass through. Landscapes that would be washed out, dull, or flat with other lenses become defined, vibrant, and vivid, while your eyes remain cool and relaxed. PHD 2.0 LENS TECHNOLOGY Each lens is built with NXT technology and made from Trivex material designed to withstand impacts and temperature changes. Lighter than polycarbonate, PhD 2.0 lenses offer higher optical clarity and the perfect balance of visual and physical performance. The PhD 2.0 features hydro- and oleophobic front-side coatings, which help repel water, fingerprints and debris. The highly durable backside anti-fog treatment enables perfect vision and performance whatever the activity. After 3 years of almost daily use they're still in excellent condition. The glass photochromatic lenses do not have a single scratch on them and darken and lighten as expected. In the past, I got the more common sunglasses with polycarbonate lenses and no matter what the brand and how careful I was with them, they'd end up getting scratched within a few days, and my vision would be hazy after a few weeks due to the myriad of scratches. The fit has not changed. Perhaps it's the frame quality and the spring loaded hinges. The arms are still symmetrical. When I open the arms and set the glasses on a flat surface, the arm tips are level. The fit on my ears and temples are even on both sides and when I tilt my head down, the glasses do not slide off. I mention these because any unevenness would bother me a great deal.I'm usually careful with my possessions but I did drop the glasses from atop my head down to a concrete floor a few days ago. Fortunately, no glass breakage or other damage, but the incident prompted me to write this review.I've worn the glasses for hours under an over-the-ear aviation headset and with the ear cups properly adjusted, it's a very comfortable combination. Of course, this all depends on one's head shape and size.Mine came with a hard clamshell-type case which I always use when transporting the glasses in backpack or briefcase. Transporting without a hard case will eventually result in damage. The only maintenance I perform is that I wash the glasses in soap and water every day or so. I use paper towels to dry them off. Paper doesn't scratch the lenses (unless it has "sand" as a prefix). When participating in activities requiring better eye impact protection, e.g., shooting sports, properly rated polycarbonate lenses are a better choice. However, for daily use, I prefer these.I had read about Serengeti frames and lenses going downhill, but as a huge fan of the brand for about 30 years I felt the need to at least try these. I ordered them with every intention of returning them (thanks to Amazon's great return policies) if they were poor quality, didn't fit right, or the lenses were crap.As it turns out, I am looking for a reason to buy another pair. These are built well, but still lightweight and the lenses are SO much better than "quality" plastic lenses like Oakley's. They are on par with Maui Jim but quite a bit less costly.I have a larger face and these fit me with 100% comfort. They are probably not for smaller faces.I would still rate my glass lens Maui Jim's slightly higher in build quality and clarity, but only by the smallest of margins, and these are significantly lighter weight. That's a pretty good trade off if you wear sunglasses for extended periods, like golf or boating. These are A+ for sure. A great buy at a great price. And the case is pretty nice too.I purchased these in January of 2018 and within a week the temple screws had to be tightened. I took them to the local optometrist office and they would tighten them whenever I wanted. I ended up buying a precision screwdriver set and did it on my own. About 3 weeks ago the right lens just popped out and landed on the blacktop in a parking lot, the lens cracked slightly where it landed, I was pissed to say the least. As someone else who wrote a reviewsaid there is no movement where the screw that holds the lens in at all. I could've put then back together but the cracks would have been in my vision field a bit. I decided to call serengetti ( Bushnell) I explained what happened. After the conversation they ended up sending me a brand new pair! I only had to email the screenshot of my invoice from Amazon. I didn't even have to send my old ones back. I received them within a week and the temples have remained tight since then. The glass lenses even sound different than the first pair, if that makes sense. I'd give the new pair I got directly from Serengetti 5 stars. Perhaps the ones people sell on Amazon are lower quality than the ones serengetti sells directly, like they're outlet quality?Hope this review helps!I purchased a pair back in 2004 but unfortunately I broke them about a month ago. I was a bit skeptical about the quality after all these years. I am very pleased to say that the quality is the same if not better. The fit and comfort is great. I can wear these for hours and are comfortable for the duration.Great product...keep up the good work. The screw in one side of the frame popped out after about 4 months of wear. The lens fell out and fortunately didn't scratch or break. For $150 though, I would expect better quality. These are wonderful glasses that fit well, and stay in place. Not only do they look good on, but their polarized lens lets you see what others simply can't! Whether fishing or hiking, or whatever outdoor activity you enjoy, your eyes will be protected, and you'll be seeing everything there is to see! I can't count the times I have turned to somebody next to me and said something like, "Oh look! Do you see ... ?" They have not been able to until I let them look through my glasses. Then it's "Oh wow! What are these? Where did you get them?"Son lo mejor que he tenido ya con este son 7 pares de gafas Serengueti que he tenido todas espectaculares.los filtros son muy buenos e ideales para conducir con ellosQuite large, was for husband but he didnt like them, so I use them. The best lenses however after a week and half one of the lenses droped out. Lost the screw but someone had a replacement screw, but still! Consigliatissimi.I am very happy with this upgrade style from my previous Serengeti's (I own & worn 2 pairs of the Large Aviator style - rose tint for over 20 years.) They fit my wide face with a little bending on the temple arms. Corning glass and photochromatic technology is worth every $ spent. In my opinion stop flushing money away by buying "polycarbonate/ plastic fashion" glasses and take care of your irreplaceable Eyes sight.Serengetti quality and Glass lenses last last lastp.s. I drive professionally 8 hours a day and I never get headaches or eye strain from wearing Serengeti's. Great glare & UV protection in all weather conditions and awesome clarity of vision.p.s.s. check the warehouse deals for substantial discounts on Serengeti's!Habe mich aufgrund vieler positiver Rezensionen für eine Serengeti entschieden. Wichtig war mir besonders ein exzellentes Glas und gute Eigenschaften für das Autofahren. Serengeti bewirbt seine Gläser vollmundig als " beste Gläser, die der Markt zu bieten hat". Nun also ein Versuch.
